NWA Chase For The Gold
LIVE FROM ATLANTA, GEORGIA!
LIVE FROM ATLANTA, GEORGIA!
The scene opens up to GPB Studios where the NWA faithfuls are going wild in the crowd, excited for this monumental event for the National Wrestling Alliance!
“Good evening and WELCOME to Chase For The Gold! I’m David Marquez and I PROMISE you we have an incredible evening of action here this evening! We’ll be getting things kicked off with our World Tag Team Championship bout shortly, but first, I want to hear from a man who has been caught up in quite the drama as of late. Folks, please welcome the one, the only, E…LI….DRAKE!”
The fans cheer as Eli Drake makes his way to the ring for his interview with Marquez.
“LEMME TALK TO YA! All this talk about Matt Riddle, and Jericho, and the rest of the Inner Circle…I think we’ve all gotten WAAAY too sidetracked with things!
E…LI….DRAKE is not a man to get caught up in this high school bullshit! YEAH! So lemme say it like THIS and make it crystal clear! From here on out, I’m removing myself from that situation. Riddle’s a big boy and he can take care of himself. Jericho is, and will always be, an asshole.
I need to move on to bigger and better things, Dave. It’s time for Eli Drake to set his sights on that NWA National Title! I know we have a big match set for tonight between Joe and Crews, but it doesn’t matter who wins, because E…LI….DRAKE wants his shot!
So boys, give it your all! But know this…Eli Drake’s comin’ for your ass and TAKING that National Title!”
The fans in attendance cheer as Eli Drake nods in confidence about his decision to pursue the National Championship. Marquez acknowledge Drake’s new goal, and then sends us to the ring!
NWA World Tag Team Championships
Beer Money v. The North (c)
This match delivered on all levels. The brawling style of Beer Money clashed with the technical style of The North to create one of the best NWA tag team matches we’ve seen in quite some time. Both teams went the distance and, after an incredible effort by The North, they couldn’t get the job done against the fan favorites in Beer Money. The conclusion of the match saw James Storm pin Josh Alexander with the Last Call Superkick.

After the match, Storm and Roode celebrate their huge victory as Alexander still appears to be KO'd in the center of the ring. Page snarls watching Beer Money celebrate, and it appears that some serious bad blood as developed between these two teams.

NWA Television Championship
Ricky Starks (c) v. Trevor Murdoch
In this match up, Trevor Murdoch had his chance against Ricky Starks to win the Television Title after several weeks of build up. Unfortunately, this match didn’t see a finish…but not due to the 6 minute 5 second time limit, but because JEFF JARRETT once again stuck his nose where it didn’t belong, forcing the ref to call for the bell after Jarrett ran in the ring and hit Murdoch with The Stroke, adding fuel to their brewing rivalry.
Winner: Draw (Ricky Starks retains)
NWA National Championship
Samoa Joe v. Apollo Crews (c)
After weeks of build up, Samoa Joe was salivating at this opportunity to dethrone Apollo Crews as the National Champion. Apollo, being the valiant champion, didn’t back down from the challenge and absorbed some serious punishment from Joe in this match. Crews was able to fight back several times, mounting the comeback against the villainous Joe. The crowd, solely behind Apollo, propelled him close to finishing the match in his favor until Samoa Joe caught Crews in the Coquina Clutch! Crews refused to quit; however, the referee had no choice upon incapacitation to award the National Championship to Samoa Joe.

Battle Royal
Entrants by order of appearance:

Allison Kay
Asuka
Kamille
Marti Belle
Shayna Baszler

Tenille Dashwood
Taya Valkyrie
The final four women included Asuka, Baszler, Taya Valkyrie and Tenille Dashwood. The stakes couldn’t have been higher for these women to become the first NWA Women’s World Champion in the GWA-era version of the National Wrestling Alliance. The final two eliminations took place when Baszler press slammed Dashwood and threw her out of the ring, much to the shock of the crowd. Taya quickly went behind Baszler and quickly eliminated her while she wasn’t looking! This left Taya and Asuka in the center of the ring, with Mr. Fuji at ringside cheering Asuka on. Taya put up a hell of a fight, but in the end, it was Asuka who eliminated Taya with a huge superkick after both women were battling on the ring apron.

Main Event
NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship
Jax Dane v. The Undertaker
The culmination of 8 weeks has finally arrived in the finals for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship. There is no greater prize in the National Wrestling Alliance, and both Jax Dane and The Undertaker know this. The Undertaker has made it his mission to win the NWA Heavyweight Championship or retire - he finally had that opportunity.
In a battle of behemoths, Jax Dane certainly held his own against the veteran Undertaker. Taker looked like a new man in the ring, with a renewed passion and focus that transcended the mere smoke and lights fans have praised for years. If this match proved anything, it’s that The Undertaker is like a fine wine - better with age.
However, this didn’t stop the younger and hungry challenger Jax Dane from beating the hell out of Undertaker. Dane was incredibly impressive in this match, taking The Undertaker to limits he’s only been a handful of times.
In the end, Jax Dane hit the 300 Spear on Undertaker for a near fall. The NWA faithfuls in attendance couldn’t believe that Undertaker managed to kick out of it - something we haven’t seen since the resurgence of the NWA. As both men continued battling, The Undertaker attempted to hit the Last Ride on Dane to cement his NWA World Championship win, but Dane’s mass was too much for Undertaker this far into the match as Dane slid off, quickly created some distance, and managed to hit The 300 on Undertaker again! 1…2….AGAIN, UNDERTAKER KICKS OUT!
At this rate, Jax Dane had no idea what else to do. He started pounding his fists on the mat and letting out a guttural scream. The fans were on their feet, cheering on The Undertaker. At the finish of the match, Dane was attempting to hit a Chokeslam on Taker, but Taker reversed and hoisted the 300 pounder into the air with THE LAST RIDE! 1….2…..3! NEW CHAMPION!
Winner and NEW NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship: The Undertaker
The fans are in shock and awe at the incredible match they just saw between two time-tested veterans. The Undertaker stood tall holding up the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship, albeit on shaky knees, while Dane rolled out of the ring in disappointment and frustration.
At the conclusion of The Undertaker’s celebration, he was met by none other than the president of the NWA, Billy Corgan. Corgan and Taker shake hands before Taker rolls out of the ring.
“LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, GIVE IT UP FOR THE UNDERTAKER!”
The fans go wild as Corgan looks enthralled at the main event contest the fans just got to witness.
“From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank all of you fans for making this possible. The National Wrestling Alliance is an incredibly special company to me, and I’m honored that you have entrusted me to continue trusting the NWA brand into the future of pro wrestling.
I know this was our first pay-per-view in a long time, but God willing, it won’t be the last. And as long as you fans continue propelling the NWA the way that you are, there will be hundreds more pay-per-views to come!”
The fans cheer as Corgan looks teary eyed, proud of the progress that the National Wrestling Alliance has made. Corgan is about to speak again, when he’s suddenly cut off.
“William Patrick Corgan. A failed musician turned wrestling promoter. Billy, times are different. The National Wrestling Alliance may be the oldest promotion, but that doesn’t qualify it as the best. Hell, it doesn’t even qualify it as good."
The fans begin to boo viciously as Ellering smirks.
“What makes you think you’re qualified to lead this company? We trusted you. And this is what you do? In my opinion, the entire model of an authority figure pretending to love these fans is simply...bullshit. Billy, you know this is a business. Why do you care what anyone thinks? You should care what WE think.”
Billy raises an eyebrow and shakes his head. The fans boo, knowing that Corgan is indeed the owner and President of the NWA.
“I want you to listen to me, and listen closely.. Wrestlers, like humanity itself, will be forced to adapt with the changes that are forthcoming. But YOU…you won’t be around to see them.”
Corgan tries to interrupt Ellering, but Ellering cuts him off.
“No, you’ve talked enough. Let me make this short and sweet.
Your failure to adapt to the times has cost you dearly. It’s why the Smashing Pumpkins are irrelevant. It’s why the NWA is stuck in the past. Much like your musical career Billy, your wrestling career will be over…tonight.”
And suddenly…
The lights in the arena go out as Joe Galli begins panicking on commentary. We then here disturbing, visceral screams coming from the ring.
Then, the screams cease and the lights in the arena flash back on.
Corgan’s gone…
But a familiar face remains in the center of the ring as GPB Studios is stunned silent.
