Episode #06: “Do I Have Your Attention Now?”
We begin this week’s episode with The Young Buck in their hotel room.
Matt Jackson: Here we are, two weeks away from Road Wild and finally back on the show.
Nick Jackson: It’s been what, 2-3 weeks since we last appeared on BTE? I knew things would be different here, but I didn’t think we’d be bumped from our own show!
Matt Jackson: It’s crazy Nick, but at least this week it’s all about The Young Bucks! A whole hour of us talking tag team wrestling and some of our favourite matches in our career! We’ve even got and old friend who may be popping in to say hello.
Nick Jackson: Did Adam ever call you back?
Matt Jackson: Which Adam?
Nick Jackson: You know the one I’m talking about, don’t you?
Matt Jackson: Oh yeah, that one! He’s right over there Nick!
The camera pans over to see Mike Adamle standing in front of The Young Bucks. Nick seems very confused to see him.
Adamle: Hey guys! Thanks for having me here, I really appreciated getting an invite to be on Beating the Elite!
Matt Jackson: Uh, it’s “BEING” The Elite.
Nick Jackson: Matt, what the hell is this? This is not who I was referring to, his name isn’t even Adam….
Matt Jackson: Adam….Adamle, I mean it’s in there Nick, I guess I got a little confused.
Nick Jackson: A little? We don’t even know the guy personally, I don’t even know how many fans watching this will even remember him, what are we going to do now?
Adamle: You guys want to play cards or something? I’ve got Uno!
Matt and Nick look at each other before Superkicking Adamle who falls out of view of the camera.
Matt Jackson: Well, so much for a whole show about us now I guess.
Nick Jackson: I hope you guys had some other footage planned, because our idea just went out the window, thanks a lot Matt!

The camera cuts to Marty Scurll, who is sitting in his own hotel room, drinking coffee and somehow seemingly watching the events that just unfolded in disgust.
Scurll: Mike Adamle? That’s got to be the worst decision ever made in the history of professional wrestling! Who in their right mind would ever think Mike Adamle would be a good choice to be included on a wrestling show?

Tenay: Ladies and gentlemen, Mike Tenay here and I’ve got some exciting new about WCW’s upcoming PPV: Road Wild! As we already know, Road Wild is coming at you Saturday, August 29th, 2020 from The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis North Dakota, and will mark the beginning of the tournament to crown the next WCW World Tag Team Champions! I can also confirm to you here today that the next opponents for our WCW Women’s Champion Tessa Blanchard and our WCW World Heavyweight Champion, Nick Aldis have officially been named! First, Tessa Blanchard will defend her WCW Women’s Championship for the first time, as she takes on a superstar who was incredible impressive in the Battle Royal even though she came up short, Big Swole!
Secondly, Nick Aldis will defend his WCW World Heavyweight Championship for the first time, when he meets former TNA World Champion, Moose in a 1-on-1 contest! Moose’s performance was impressive enough at Bash at the Beach that WCW management have decided to give him another opportunity at the title!
Finally, it was announced last week by WCW President Eric Bischoff, that a number one contender’s match will be held to determine the next challenger for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. I can now confirm that the participants in this match will be Marty Scurll and Cesaro in what no doubt will be an absolute brawl!
Make sure to catch all this and more when WCW Presents: Road Wild! Saturday, August 29th in Sturgis North Dakota!

Cardona: Bash at the Beach was a night for the history books, it was a night to remember, but it wasn’t MY night. I went out there and I gave it my all against a personal hero of mine in the Macho Man, but Savage walked away with the victory, and here I am, left without making a name for myself once again. I called Eric Bischoff and I asked him for another opportunity at Road Wild, but I was turned down. Apparently there is no room for me at Road Wild, but it feels like there is no room for me here at WCW in general! I won’t lie, I feel lost, I feel like I came here taking a chance on both myself and this company, but to already be pushed aside after 1 loss is disheartening to say the least. I’m determined to make a name for myself and if it’s not here, maybe I’ll have to think about doing it somewhere else.
The sound of a cellphone buzzing can be heard in the background as Cardona looks off camera to see his phone ringing. He then picks up his phone and stares at the Caller ID in confusion.
Cardona: Seth Rollins? What the……Hello?

Bryan: Jim Cornette, first off congratulations on finding yourself a client, a big one no doubt as I believe Dijakovic has a bright future in the business and if anyone can help him get there it’s you. Now I heard what you had to say to me last week, believe me I heard it loud and clear, and I didn’t appreciate it at all. You may be one of the greatest managers of our time, but where do you think you can get off undermining my own accomplishments and the career success that I fought to achieve? I offered you encouragement, and I offered you advise that you clearly took, but I don’t understand the animosity towards me because of it? Jim, if I’d offended you, you had plenty of opportunity to speak to me about it privately and I would have explained myself an apologized to you, because I in no way meant to disrespect you, but I thought you were going about your business in an incorrect way which would have explained your failure in trying to find a client up until last week. Now as for the challenge for a match at Road Wild, I’m always interested in new and exciting matches, especially against guys I haven’t had an opportunity to face before, so I’d love to meet Dijakovic in that ring. The thing is though Jim, I feel like Dijakovic isn’t the one who wants this, I feel like it’s you who wants to see Dijakovic fight me, because you’re looking for retribution through someone else’s success. For that reason, my answer is no. Unless Dijakovic wants to challenge me to a match for his own benefit, and not yours, I have to decline the challenge.
Daniel Bryan turns to leave when he see his old friend Drew Gulak standing near.
Bryan: Oh, hey Drew!
Gulak: Daniel, sorry to both you. I’m heading out to grab a coffee, you want one?
Bryan: That would be great, thank you!
Gulak: No problem, I’ll be back shortly.

We head back to a shot of The Young Bucks still in their hotel room, watching television.
Matt Jackson: You know Nick, I’ve been watching this episode for about an hour and a half now, and I hate to say it, but The System sucks.
Nick Jackson: The System?
Matt Jackson: Yeah, it sucks. I mean I’ll be honest with you, watching this is really letting me down right now. I had some high hopes for The System, but it’s actually terrible.
Nick Jackson: You know, you’re not wrong if we’re being completely honest here. The System has to be the worst thing around right now.
There’s a knock at the door and in walks Marty Scurll. Scurll steps over the feet of what we can only guess is Mike Adamle who is still laid out from the earlier Superkick and takes a seat on the couch beside his fellow Elite members.
Scurll: What are you lads doing?
Nick Jackson: Matt was just watching this episode here and pointing out how bad The System sucks.
Scurll: The System? I’ve been saying that for weeks! How in the hell are people supposed to take that faction seriously when they are constantly pushed down everyone’s throats! Is it Monday Night Raw, or Monday Night The System? Either way, terrible booking last night too! Lance Storm and Test? I mean Test makes sense, but who is Lance Storm a threat to, his barber? The best part of the show was how little you saw of them this week! I mean I’ll give you some credit, there more talent in that group than The Undisputed ERA, but still THE SYSTEM SUCKS bollocks! Agh, you’ve got me right pissed off now lads, way to go!
Matt and Nick Jackson stare at Marty Scurll in both shock and confusion.
Nick Jackson: Marty, what the hell are you talking about?
Scurll: What the hell am I…. LADS! The System! That terrible faction in WWF with Vince McMahon, Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre, Rick Rude, Steve Austin, Lance Storm, Test, Bubba the Love Sponge, Spongebob Square Pants, that guy from Dude Where’s My Car, 2 Siamese Cats and Oscar the Grouch’s pet mouse Squeaky!
Matt Jackson: Uh Marty, we meant the sound system here in the room…..
Nick Jackson: Yeah, the sound system sucks. We paid extra for surround sound since we’d be staying here a few weeks, but it’s really not up to par with our standards.
Matt Jackson: Honestly, this sound system sucks.
Nick Jackson: It really does, yeah.
Marty just looks at The Bucks in embarrassment and quickly leaves the room, shaking his head and absolutely speechless.
Matt Jackson: I though Monday Night Raw was alright.
Nick Jackson: Pretty good actually, great Main Event.

We see Drew Gulak walking backstage with two coffees in his hand, just then he’s jumped by Dominick Dijakovic, who send him hard in to the concrete wall! Dijakovic begins to beat down on a defenseless Drew Gulak as he starts throwing him all over the hallway, using whatever he can as a weapon until Gulak is seemingly unconscious. Dijakovic then picks up Gulak and hits the Feast Your Eyes on him, as Gulak lays out cold on the floor, a bloody mess. The camera pans back from Drew’s lifeless body as Jim Cornette slowly walks in to view and stands beside Dijakovic.
Dijakovic: Hey Daniel, how’s that for a personal challenge! DO I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION NOW?!
**THE END**
