We begin this week’s episode with a recap of Killer Kross’ debut and subsequent attack on Jon Moxley at the end of Friday’s Bash at the Beach PPV. We then head to footage of a fuming Jon Moxley backstage in what looks like moments after the show has gone off the air.
Moxley: Killer KROSS! You made a big mistake, A BIG MISTAKE! You think you can just walk out to that ring and ATTACK ME like that? Now I’m never one to back down from a fight, so all you needed to do was ask, but instead you STUCK your nose where it DIDN’T BELONG! Kross we may not be familiar with each other, our paths may have never crossed before tonight, but THEY HAVE NOW and man oh man am I looking forward to getting a chance to get my hand on you. What you did tonight was look to make an impact, you wanted to get someone’s attention, WELL YOU’VE GOT MY ATTENTION NOW! I’ve spoken to Eric Bischoff and I told him that he needed to get me in the ring with you, so GUESS WHAT Kross? August 29th, WCW Presents: Road Wild, I’ll see you there…..I’ll see you there!

Episode #05: “The Road to Road Wild”
Bischoff: Ladies and gentlemen, I’d like to thank all of you for making Bash at the Beach such a great success, honestly we could not have done it without the support of all of you, and now that we’ve gotten that first event out of the way, it really feels like WCW is back in business. Now as the time ticks on, we turn our attention to Saturday, August 29th, 2020 in Sturgis North Dakota for WCW’s next PPV Road Wild! Now I must admit, old habits do die hard and although I did promise not to duplicate the same mistakes we made 20 years ago, our annual trip to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in August was something I just couldn’t leave in the past. Now speaking of Road Wild, I’d like to announce that at this PPV, we’ll be holding the first matches in a tournament to crown the first WCW Tag Team Champions! At Road Wild, we will see 4 Quarter Final Matches, with the winners moving on to the Semi Finals, which will be held in at a later date. The Quarter Final Matches are as followed:
“Boooooorn to be Wiiiiiiiiiild”
Bischoff: Our WCW World Heavyweight and WCW Women’s Champions will also make their first title defenses at this PPV against opponents who will be named at a later date. In addition, a special singles match will be held during this event with the winner of that match getting the next WCW World Heavyweight Championship opportunity. The participants in this match will be named on next week’s episode of Being the Elite. Once again, thank you all for your support, and we’ll see you in North Dakota!

We cut to Jim Ross sitting in a well-furnished room. He is joined by the new WCW World Heavyweight Champion, Nick Aldis.
JR: First of all, congratulations on your WCW Championship win Nick.
Aldis: Thank you! I said it would be done, and I did it. As you’ll soon come to find, I’m a man of my word Jim.
JR: Yes, well speaking of the Championship, some people are saying that you took advantage of an easy situation during your match in order to win that championship. I believe they are referring to you tossing Jon Moxley out of the ring in order to pin Moose, who had just taken Moxley’s Paradigm Shift mere moments earlier. What is your response to your new found critics?
Aldis: Well Jim, just like those critics who say you shouldn’t even be working in this business anymore because you can barely remember the names of the talent whose matches you call, my only response would be tough luck. A Champion is someone with enough ring awareness to always be aware of his surroundings. Jon Moxley knew going in to the match that he had 3 other opponents, same as the rest of us. Only 2 of those opponents were accounted for at the time, and Jon should have been making sure the 3rd opponent, myself would not be in the position I was, then maybe he’s be sitting here with you instead, but he’s not. Fact of the matter is, I saw an opportunity and I took it! From last pick in the draft, to the first WCW World Heavyweight Champion, I have accomplished exactly what I’d said I would, and now you can mark my words again when I tell you that I’ll be holding this title for a very long time.
JR: That’s a very confident statement, with the surplus of high level talent we have here in WCW, what makes you so sure you’ll be able to keep your word this time around?
Aldis: Have you forgotten the wrestling pedigree that accompanies me here? I am one of the greatest 2-time NWA World’s Champions to ever grace the company! A company that I single handily put back on the map if you remember, and where are they now? They need to borrow superstars from our roster just to give their Television Champion a worthy opponent! I’ve done my time in this business and I’ve earned my way to the spot I currently sit in simply by being the better man, both in the ring and out of it.
JR: You took advantage of someone else’s work in the match in order to win, do you actually believe that makes you a better man in the ring, or simply an opportunist who was just in the right place at the right time?
Aldis: Seriously? Incredible! If you were 30 years younger and 100lbs lighter, I’d offer you a shot at this Championship, just so I can show you how great I really am first hand! Your opinions, much like your status in the industry these days is irrelevant! You stick to mispronouncing superstar names, and I’ll continue to carry myself like the true World’s Champion that I am! I can and I will defeat anyone this company puts in front of me, and you’ll forever be a washed up old man holding on to glory days and fading relevancy, not that you were ever all that relevant to begin with! This interview is over!
Aldis stands up, pulling off his microphone and tossing it at JR before leaving the interview area in a huff as JR watches on with zero reaction.

Moose is seen standing alone backstage, when he is approached by MVP.
MVP: Big Moose! Baby, how is it going? Listen, I saw the match at Bash, you looked incredible, unstoppable man…..until that cardio started becoming an issue towards the end of the match and well, we saw what came after that, didn’t we?
Moose shoots an annoyed look at MVP, who quickly takes a step back to make sure he’s still out of range of Moose’s reach.
MVP: Hey my man, listen it’s all is good fun, you know I respect the hell out of you! Moose, I was over at HQ this morning signing my official WCW contract, and I overheard a rumour that you might be getting another shot at the WCW Championship a little sooner than you think. Now, I MAAYYY have barged in to that office and told them that the only consideration for a WCW Championship contender should be you, because that’s the cold hard truth of the matter, but only because I believe with the proper guidance, you won’t fail a second time around. Moose, this aint Impact Wrestling anymore, this is the big leagues and YOU need an established veteran like ME to elevate your status in WCW. It just so happens that I need a powerhouse like you to watch my back around here as well, which is why I figured maybe we’d be able to come to some sort of business relationship between the two of us?
Moose looks at MVP, but doesn’t respond.
MVP: Man of few words these days? That’s different from the Moose I remember, but hey I understand you’ve got a lot to think about here big man. Take one of these and give me a call when you’ve got it all figured out, champ!
MVP hands Moose a business card and walks off.

Rollins: I’ve had some time to reflect since my actions on Friday, and I’ve come to the conclusion that I may have stepped out of line after my match with Dustin Rhodes. I had Murphy and Theory attack Dustin in order to send a message to Jon Moxley, and in doing so I may have ended the career of a man who has been in this business for over 30 years. Dustin, at Bash I made you a martyr for my cause to recruit a man who clearly had no intention of walking my path to salvation with me. I stomped your head in to the mat not once, but twice just to be rejected by a man that for more than half of my career, I called my brother. Dustin, I know you’re watching at home, recovering from what happened to you, and I know you’ve missed the last two booking meetings due to the injuries you suffered both in our match, and afterwards. After some deep reflection Dustin, I just wanted to reach out to you here to tell you that you’re welcome! Your welcome Dustin! What I did to you was a blessing that you may not see now, but you will soon come to realize. I ended a career that should have ended on it’s own terms almost a decade ago! I’ve taken you out of your misery, I’ve helped you end your addiction to being in a ring that you no longer belong in, and now after you recover from your injuries you can spend time with your family, you can be a father and you never have to walk alone again! Dustin, your career was a blessing that soon turned to be a curse, a cure I’ve freed you from! Enjoy your retirement Dustin, but if for some reason, you find that you can’t quite stay away, you’ve always got a spot alongside me in The Salvation. Take care brother.

Cornette: For weeks, I offered my services to the young veterans of WCW. Superstars who I believed were missing 1 key element in order to become that top star that I saw in their future. Now, I’m not a man to enjoy admitting when I was wrong, but clearly I underestimated Nick Aldis. Nick, congratulations on your WCW World Heavyweight Championship victory, I have nothing but respect for you, and I hope your reign is both long and profitable for you. The Revival, clearly you showed me at Bash that you are more than capable of holding your own in that ring, but I still believe you need my help even though you don’t want it. Now I know you’re both a bunch of stubborn sons of bitches, so I’ll leave you alone, but my phone is always on if you’re looking for any advice. There was one man though who was so rude and disrespectful, that I would have knocked the teeth out of his stupid vegan mouth if I were only a few years younger. Daniel Bryan, you stupid son of a bitch, thinking you can talk down to one of the greatest managers of ALL TIME! You should have been kissing my ass for even thinking about wanting to manage some snowflake tree hugger like yourself, but instead you try to talk down to me? What have you accomplished in your career? Every time you win a title you’re out on the injured list longer than combined reigns! Now maybe I should thank you because you did offer me a very important piece of advice that I will admit, I took. So Daniel, thanks to you I’d like to introduce you to my newest client, and future WCW World Heavyweight Champion, Dominik Dijakovic!
The camera pans over to show the 6’7” Dijakovic towering over Cornette and looking as mean as ever!
Cornette: Dijakovic is 6’7”, 270lbs of Croatian muscle! A man whose strength and power is rivaled only by his fellow countrymen, and MMA stars Stipe Miocic and Mirko Cro Cop, meaning he is the biggest and baddest man in WCW! Daniel Bryan, we’re here to put you on notice! You are on Dijakovic’s radar, and you will be his first victim, that is, if you’re brave enough to accept our challenge! Saturday, August 29th at Road Wild, Dijakovic vs. YOU Daniel Bryan, if you have the balls! We’ll be waiting for your answer.
**THE END**
