Episode #04: “The Champ is Here?”
We begin this week’s episode with Dustin Rhodes sitting alone.
Rhodes: Seth Rollins, two weeks ago you challenged me to a match this Sunday at Bash at the Beach and I immediately accepted. Over the last two weeks, I’ve been asked by my friends and family “Why?” Why would I step in to the ring with you at WCW’s debut event? Why, would I in my 51st year put my career in jeopardy against someone who is clearly still in the prime of theirs? The answer is simple Seth, I still have a lot in the tank. You talk about me losing my family by coming over to WCW? You want to say I’m lost here, that I have nothing and no one? Let me remind you about the one who has seemingly lost their family, Seth. Where is your fiancé? What about your “brother” Jon Moxley, has he given you any inclination that he’s even considered joining up with you again? The one who is lost here isn’t me Seth, it’s you! This Sunday, when we meet in the middle of that ring in Miami Florida, I’m going to show you who is truly alone, and when the dust settles and that bell rings, it’ll be me who stands victorious Seth! I’ll see you on Sunday!

We see Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone driving together again.
Schiavone: On the way to officially sign our newest WCW talent!
JR: That’s right Tony, congratulations on the promotion by the way, I don’t understand why you weren’t brought in as a member of the booking committee in the first place, but it’s good to have you on the office side of things as well as the broadcast booth.
Schiavone: Thank you Jim, but let’s be honest here, you just don’t like driving yourself!
JR: Well that too.
Schiavone: So who is it we’re going to meet right now anyways?
JR: Honestly Tony, I have no idea. Eric just gave me the address, handed me this envelope with a contract in it, and told me to get it done before Sunday. I know you think I’ve got all this inside information, but honestly I probably know as much as you do the way Bischoff likes to keep things so close to his vest.
Schiavone: I’m sure that’ll change in the near future. I think we’re here Jim!

Macho Man: OOOOOOOOOOH YEAAAAH! DIG IT!

We see Daniel Bryan walking backstage, when he is approached by Jim Cornette.
Bryan: Jim, I’m going to stop you right there. Look, I know why you’re here and I know what you’re going to say, but I’m not interested. I’m flattered you’ve even thought of me, but we are two vastly different individuals and a partnership between us just wouldn’t work. I’ve seen your pitches to Aldis and The Revival and I think you’d be a great fit with either of them, but it’s just not going to work here. Best of luck though Jim, honestly I’m sure you’ll end up finding someone who will take you up on your offer sooner or later. My best advice to you, trying looking for someone who isn’t as established as they guys you’re approaching, maybe that will work out better for you.
Bryan then walks off before allowing Cornette to even say a word. As Cornette stands there, his look of disappointment soon turns to a sinister scowl as he pulls out his cellphone and begins to text someone.

We are now back with JR and Tony Schiavone who have left the car and are now standing in front of a beautiful Beverly Hills Mansion. Tony knocks on the door, which elicits an “It’s Open!” holler from inside. Schiavone and JR enter the mansion to see a man leaning against a piano walking around in wrestling gear for whatever reason.
Schiavone: Hey son, is your uh dad here?
City: Dad? Tony I’m 34 years old! You really think I’m still living with my parents?
Schiavone: Well, sorry I mean, I…..
City: Well, I mean technically I AM still living with them, but they sure as hell couldn’t afford this place! Anyways, he’s been waiting for you guys, follow me.
The man takes Jim and Tony down a long hallway which leads to a giant wooden door. The man opens the door and proceeds to usher JR and Schiavone through to an office filled with movie posters, Blockbuster Entertainment Awards, and of course, the WCW World Heavyweight Championship on display hanging over the office chair. The man on the chair then turns around to face JR and Schiavone who both look on in confusion.
JR: What the hell?
Schiavone: You’ve got to be kidding me, we drove all this way for this?
Arquette: I know right! The champ is here! I’m so happy to be back on board with WCW! It’s so good to see you again Tony!

Tenay: Ladies and gentleman, thank you for tuning in to Being The Elite and thank you for letting WCW back in to your lives after almost 2 decades away from the industry. For our newer fans out there, my name is Mike Tenay and not only will I be the 3rd man in the WCW announce booth, I’m also here today to run down the card for WCW’s Bash at the Beach.
Starting off the broadcast will be a 10-Woman, Over the Top Rope Battle Royal with the entire WCW Women’s division. Some notable names to look out for here are Alexa Bliss, Big Swole, Rhea Ripley and of course Carmella. One interesting fact about this match is AEW’s very own Britt Baker will be a part of this match as she looks to potentially become WCW women’s Champion on her final night with the company!
The winner of course will then immediately be entered in to a 1-on-1 match with WCW’s #1 female draft pick and former Impact Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion, Tessa Blanchard! These two women will then face off with the winner being crowned WCW’s first Women’s Champion!
Also on the card, we have Kip Sabian’s “Open Challenge”. Kip has challenged any member of the WCW roster to an impromptu wrestling match during WCW PPV, and it’s any one’s guess as to who will be the one to accept this challenge. If I were a betting man, I’d say WCW’s newest signing David Arquette or his tag team partner RJ City would be a crazy not to take this opportunity to step in to the ring against one of our fastest rising young stars in the company.
Another match I’m really looking forward to is WCW Legend “Macho Man” Randy Savage taking on Matt Cardona, who will be making his first wrestling appearance since leaving WWE after 12 years! Cardona has made it very clear that he is looking to make a name for himself in WCW, but will he be able to defeat Randy Savage to do so?
We’ve also got 2 Tag team matches on the card as Matt and Nick Jackson take on JML’s David Starr and Isaiah “Swerve” Scott and The Revival take on The Motor City Machine Guns.
With both of these tag matches, I can foresee the two top team in The Young Bucks and The Revival walking away victorious in the respective matches as fans all over the world patiently wait for these two teams to finally face off one day under the WCW banner.
In a match that already has “Match of the Year” inclinations, Daniel Bryan will be taking on another young star in Angel Garza. Garza of course is stepping up to the plate after Zelina Vega offered Daniel Bryan a match against either of her clients, to which Bryan accepted stating he wanted nothing more than to get an opportunity to wrestle Garza, much to the dismay of Andrade who many believe is Zelina’s “A client”.
In a match featured earlier in this week’s BTE, Dustin Rhodes takes on Seth Rollins! Rollins challenged Rhodes to a match 2 weeks ago on Being the Elite and Dustin quickly accepted. Whether that ends up being a good decision or a career ending mistake is anyone’s guess at this time, but my money is on the veteran figuring out some sort of trick that helps him pick up a victory over an overly confident Messiah.
Finally, in our Main Event we will see 4 former World Champions in their respective companies face off in a Fatal 4-Way for the right to be names WCW World Heavyweight Champion. RoH’s Rush, IMPACT’s Moose, NWA’s Nick Aldis and AEW’s Jon Moxley will all do battle in what will ultimately be a match that no one will forget! All this and I’m sure WCW will have a few surprises throughout the show as we officially relaunch the company on July 3st live from Miami Flori…….
The screen cuts out to the hourglass that has appeared at the end of each episode of Being The Elite so far. This time as the sand pours, the sound of footsteps can be heard moving closer and closer. The sound of footsteps stop as a shadowy figure now stands in front of the hourglass, hovering over until the last grain of sand has now hit the bottom of the glass. They bend over and pick up the hourglass as the camera pans up to their face to reveal the person now standing in front of us.
Scarlett: Fall…….and…….pray…..
