NWA Powerrr #2
Location: GPB Studios in Atlanta, GA
Lights, camera, action! We get a shot of the GPB Studios in Atlanta, Georgia where the NWA fans are ready for some incredible wrestling action! There is nothing like studio wrestling and the intimate, closed-set feeling of the NWA is in full swing for this epic episode.
“Folks, welcome to this edition of NWA Power! I’m David Marquez and what a night we have in store for you! In our main event, we’ll see Chris Jericho in action against Rey Mysterio! But first, let’s head to NWA owner and President Billy Corgan for an update on the shocking conclusion to NWA Power from last week.”
“Last week at the conclusion of NWA Power, there was a disturbance in the parking lot. We know that a vehicle was destroyed and then we subsequently saw EMT’s arrive on scene. I can confirm that, unfortunately, our NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Bray Wyatt was the subject of the attack. We were able to secure video camera footage of the incident. Unfortunately, the attacker was masked and the identity of the attacker is still inconclusive. We are working diligently to identify who was behind the attacks on Bray Wyatt. As for Mr. Wyatt, he suffered severe injuries from the attack and may never be the same. We’re unsure if Bray will ever get to wrestle again. After over six months of holding the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship, it is unfortunate I must announce that the Worlds Title is now vacant. I will work with my team to develop a course of action for the championship. In the mean time, I ask you to respect the privacy of Bray Wyatt and his family during this time. Bray, thank you for your contributions to this company and best wishes to you.”
The NWA Television Champion Ricky Starks is in the ring. He grabs a mic and says that the time has come for another NWA TV Title defense. He says he’s that nobody can hang with Stroke Daddy.
This prompts the Inner Circle’s blue chipper, Sammy Guevara, to emerge from the curtain. Guevara slides in the ring and threatens to take the title away from Starks. Ricky smirks, tosses his belt to the side, and it looks like we have our weekly TV Title match set!
Match 1
NWA Television Championship
Ricky Starks v. Sammy Guevara
Sammy Guevara looked focused in this match against Ricky Starks. In consideration of the 6 minute 5 second time limit for an NWA TV title match, Guevara wasted no time getting to work on Starks. Multiple attacks by Guevara in the corner left Starks reeling. Ricky was able to make a comeback though, hitting a beautiful backbreaker and even a superplex on Guevara. As the six minute mark approached, it looked as if Guevara would defeat Starks, but Ricky was able to hit The Stroke on Guevara for the victory just in time!
Winner and still NWA Television Champion: Ricky Starks at 6:03.
After the match, Zicky Dice emerges from the curtain! He just stands there sizing up Starks, before walking to the back. We cut to commercial.

Match 2
Jax Dane v. Booker T
This match up saw NWA original Jax Dane overpower Booker T in the early going. Using his ring generalship to his advantage, Booker T was able to get some offense in on Dane with a flurry of punches, kicks, and a big suplex that really knocked the wind out of the bigger Dane. Dane was able to make a comeback however, using his scary strength to his advantage. A choke slam by Dane was nearly enough to put away Booker. This is when Dane started getting frustrated and ended up assaulting Booker in the corner. The referee pleaded for Dane to bring Booker out of the corner, but Dane blatantly ignored the referee’s warning leading to a disqualification.
Winner by DQ: Booker T at 8:33
We see “Cowboy” James Storm standing in the backstage area with his long last tag team partner, Bobby Roode!
“Look who I found, boys! Bobby Roode is now in the National Wrestling Alliance! Bobby and I go waaaay back and I hope you’re paying attention, Josh Alexander and Ethan Page! You’ve been running roughshod over the NWA tag division for long enough, and your time is coming to an end!”
“Just what he said! I decided to take a break from wrestling, invest in the stock market some more, I’ve had meetings with my financial advisor countless times and I’ve been told that the NWA is soaring to new heights! And guess what, champs? Now that Robert Roode is here in the NWA, it’s going to become even more valuable, especially when we take those tag titles away from you!”
“SORRY…about your DAMN luck! Haha, come on!”
Match 3
The North v. American Alpha
Perhaps a bit shaken up by the video package they just saw, Page and Alexander were off their games in the early going of this match. Gable was able to use his superior mat wrestling skills to keep Page in a grounded position for most of their exchange using chain wrestling to wear him down. In the latter part of the match, Jordan and Alexander were trading blows. While the referee was distracted, Alexander hit the low blow on Jordan and the North were able to dually execute their finishing move for the victory.
Winners: The North at 10:56
We see the muscle of the Inner Circle, Jake Hager, backstage with…Sammy Guevara and Chris Jericho (we think?). Oh wait, it’s just a cardboard version of them. Hager embraces the cardboard before Chris Jericho walks in.
“What the hell, Jake Hager?”
Hager quickly stops embracing the cardboard cut out, looking embarrassed as his face turns red.
“How could you lose to Apollo Crews last week on Power? And now Sammy losing to Ricky Starks tonight? This is not what the Inner Circle is about, do you hear me? We are WINNERS. Hell, I don’t even know where Santana and Ortiz are! Meanwhile, you and Sammy are losing to nobodies! Things need to change around here! Watch me break little Rey-Rey Mysterio tonight, and take notes!”
Hager nods as Jericho smirks, seemingly oblivious to the fact that Hager was hugging and taking pictures with a cardboard cutout.
Match 4
Samoa Joe v. Apollo Crews
The reigning NWA National Champion Apollo Crews finally met his most difficult opponent to date in Samoa Joe. The passionate and hungry Samoan dominated most of the match with his unique offense using moves including an STO, enziguri, and a Muscle Buster that almost put Crews away! Crews was able to make a big comeback, but it was short lived when Samoa Joe caught Crews in the Coquina Clutch and made him pass out! A huge win for Samoa Joe that will surely have earned him a title match in the future.
Winner by submission: Samoa Joe at 10:03
“Ladies and gentlemen, please let me introduce you to Big Poppa Pump…Scott Steiner!”
“Scott, thanks for joining me here. After your shocking debut last week on NWA Power, you made a bold declaration that nobody could stop you from winning the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship. Ironically, that championship is now vacant after Bray Wyatt was viciously assaulted in his vehicle, leaving him in critical condition. And many are speculating that…maybe…YOU had something to do with this?”
Steiner rips his sunglasses off as his eyes bug out towards Marquez. Marquez takes a deep gulp and wipes the sweat from his brow, realizing he could’ve worded things a little different.
“What the f-what DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME? You little goofy ass twerp! I didn’t do shit, you hear me?! I said I want that belt and nobody could stop me! I don’t have to run behind people to put them out of commission like a freight train, I’ll do it straight to their face if I wanna and I’ll beat their ass! And then YOU have the audacity to—you stupid little…!”
Steiner begins beating down David Marquez! Marquez screams for help as Steiner lays into him. Security comes rushing out pulling Steiner off of Marquez! Steiner yells at security to let him go as Marquez holds the back of his neck writhing in pain.
After we see an advertisement for Austin Idol’s wrestling school, Joe Galli has assumed the role of ring announcer to introduce our main event competitors!
Match 5
Chris Jericho v. Rey Mysterio
In a match that many would call an instant classic, Chris Jericho knew he would have to win this match to redeem the Inner Circle’s recent chain of losses. Rey Mysterio, however, being the legendary competitor he is, knew Jericho would bring the fight especially with the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship being vacant. This match was well balanced with points that were high octane, as well as points where Jericho was dominating Rey on the mat. Rey was able to show off his impressive aerial abilities with a hurricanrana, and even an Asai moonsault to the outside! Towards the end of the match, Santana and Ortiz ran out after the ref inadvertently took a bump. As LAX tried to aid Jericho in victory, Rey was able to fight both men off and send them back outside of the ring. As the referee became conscious again, Rey tried to set Jericho up for the 619, but Jericho caught the legs straight into the Walls of Jericho! Rey was able to get to the ropes, though! The finish of the match came when Rey ducked an attempted Judas Effect, sent Jericho into the ropes, hit the 619 and followed up with a big West Coast Pop for the victory!
Winner: Rey Mysterio at 16:49
After the match, Rey Mysterio stands up and begins to celebrate as the NWA faithfuls applaud his amazing performance.
Suddenly, former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Jax Dane appears through the curtain! The fans are surprised to see Dane after being dq’d earlier. Dane slides in the ring and grabs Mysterio by the throat, and nails a vicious Chokeslam on him! Dane lets out a war cry as he stands over a fallen Mysterio, while Jericho looks on from outside the ring, keeping his distance.
It certainly appears that everyone in the NWA is trying to make their case for earning a shot at the vacant NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship, but we still don’t know who was responsible for the attack on Bray Wyatt that led to him leaving the NWA and being stripped of the championship.
Until next week…
