NWA Power #12
Live from Indianapolis, IN
Live from Indianapolis, IN
NWA Power, once again, opens up with the Number One Contender Bobby Roode soaking in a chorus of boos from the crowd. Roode’s music dies down, and he begins to run his mouth…again…giving the same spiel he did last week about how he’s going to beat The Undertaker at Into the Fire, how he’s going to be the longest reigning NWA World Champion ever….blah blah blah. Honestly, this promo from Roode was so self-inflated and laden with the typical “I will win and I am the best” cliches that even *I* tuned him out. That is, until we suddenly, we hear the roar of a capacity crowd coming to its feet as a familiar rock tune hits the PA system…
THE NWA WORLDS HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION, THE UNDERTAKER, IS IN THE HOUSE! THE UNDERTAKER IS ON POWER!!! The fans are going wild and Bobby Roode looks like he’s seen a ghost! Taker makes his way into the ring and grabs a mic, as Roode is literally trembling in the corner, trying to keep his distance from the Champ.
Undertaker says cut the music, he’s got something to say! “TAKER! TAKER! TAKER!” fills the arena. Undertaker says he’s been watching Roode for the last few weeks. He says he’s never heard someone talk out of their ass so much. Undertaker says that he prefers to let his actions do the talking, and he wanted to give a gift to Bobby Roode…a gift that he can take with him to Into The Fire, as a remembrance of what’s going to happen to him…
Before Roode can get in a word, Taker grabs him by the throat, and CHOKESLAMS him straight to Hell - almost splitting the wood underneath the mat! The fans go wild as Joe Galli puts the situation over with enthusiasm. Taker looks down at Roode, who is broken in half, and smirks. He holds up the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship much to the delight of the crowd.
We go to commercial break!
Tag Team Match
The Broserweights v. Kendrick and London
Dunne and Riddle are reunited and it feels so good! Their opponents are no slouches as Kendrick and London certainly mesh well as a team. Riddle and London battled it out in the beginning of the match putting on a fun and entertaining exchange. Both men tagged at the same time and Dunne and Kendrick tore it up! The fans loved this match and the finish came when....
This was all she wrote as The Broserweights stood successful at the end.
Winners: The Broserweights at 10:26
As the Broserweights celebrate, we see a video package highlighting Ricky Starks’ impressive run as NWA Television Champion since March of this year, leading us into our next match.
Singles Match
NWA Television Championship
Ricky Starks (c) v. ____
The NWA Television Champion enters the ring, feeling confident about his title defense tonight, although he has yet to find out his opponent. He’s been an impressive champion thus far, holding the Television Title since March, with dozens of defenses under his belt. As his music dies down, he stands in the ring, waiting to see who he’ll face.
KIP SABIAN?! From WCW! Kip Sabian is here, and he wants to take some NWA gold back to Nitro! Ricky Starks smirks in the ring, thinking about how prestigious he’s made the Television Title that even people from other companies want it!
At the sound of the bell, both men started to feel each other out to see who would get the first shot. Some fun, quick paced back and forth action took place in this match with Sabian having an impressive shine against the long-reigning NWA TV Champ. However, Starks showed his in-ring prowess by reversing Sabian’s Avada Kadriva, and turned it into the BUSTER KEATON! 1…2….3! STILL your Television Champion…Ricky Starks!
Winner and STILL NWA Television Champion: Ricky Starks at 5:22
Cedric Alexander is standing backstage being interviewed. He says that when he finally makes his in-ring debut, the entire world will know that he’s the most skilled, pure athlete in NWA history.
Similar to last week, Apollo Crews steps into the scene. Both men do some trash talking about who the better wrestler is. Finally, Apollo challenged Cedric at Into the Fire...and Cedric accepts, before smirking and walking off. It looks like a battle of oneupsmanships starts at the pay per view...
Singles Match
Non-Title
Asuka v. Allison Kaye
In this match, Allison Kaye never really got a chance to get her feet under her. Asuka was dominant from the start till the finish of the match, although a brief shine from Kaye gave fans a glimmer of hope, only to be cut off by Mr. Fuji at ringside who pulled Kaye’s foot and held her in place while Asuka went on the attack.
The finish came when Asuka got Kaye in the Asuka Lock for the tap-out victory.
Winner: Asuka at 5:54
Eli Drake is backstage...YEAH! He says that the time is drawing near that he’ll finally get his hands on Samoa Joe. He says that Paul Ellering told both men earlier they are not permitted to have any physical contact prior to the pay per view. He said that’s a shame because he’d love to kick Joe’s ass tonight, but that’ll make his National Title victory at Into the Fire that much sweeter.
Singles Match
Non-Title
Samoa Joe v. Trevor Murdoch
In a true heavyweight bout, Murdoch really held his own against the imposing National Champ Samoa Joe. Murdoch was able to get some offense in against the Samoan Submission Machine, but Joe cut him off mid match and proceeded to make Murdoch regret ever stepping in the ring with him. The fans were in awe as Joe hoisted the 265 pound Murdoch in the air for the Muscle Buster and the victory!
Winner: Samoa Joe at 9:33
The Dudleys are backstage working the stick only as they can. They say they shocked the world when they beat The North but they don’t understand why everyone was surprised. The Dudleys put themselves over as the greatest tag team in history and they officially declare that, at Into The Fire, they’ll be taking those tag straps off of Page and Alexander. OH MY BROTHER...TESTIFYYYY!
Singles Match
Jax Dane v. John Morrison
Unfortunately, this match never officially got underway as Dane attacked Morrison on his way to the ring and proceeded to beat him lifeless with a steel chair. The fans were throwing massive heat towards Dane as he relished in the punishment inflicted upon Morrison, continuing his mission to purify the NWA of outsiders.
Winner: No Contest
We come back from commercial break and find the NWA fans on their feet, ready for our final segment of the evening! Suddenly, the lights dim as a familiar tune hits the PA system…
THE NWA WORLDS HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION, THE UNDERTAKER, IS HERE ONCE AGAIN!The fans go crazy as the legendary Undertaker makes his way to the ring! He gets in the ring and plays the crowd before grabbing a mic.
“I know I came out here and stated my side at the start of the show, but I want to emphasize something because Bobby Roode doesn’t seem like the type to understand the first time. For the last few months, I’ve been on a quest to prove to myself that I’m still the best to lace up a pair of boots and I think I’ve done a pretty damn good job, especially when I sent that punk ass Jax Dane straight to hell at the last pay per view.”
The fans cheer as Taker nods in respect.
“And now, once again, we have another punk ass named Bobby Roode thinking that he’s actually got a shot against The Deadman. Bobby, let me tell you something boy, you talk a big game but I’ve dealt with kids like you before and the result is always the same. You see, I don’t play the same games you do. I like to let my actions speak for themselves, take earlier tonight for example, and—“
Suddenly, THE NORTH HIT THE RING WITH THE SNEAK ATTACK ON UNDERTAKER! It seems that The North want to even the odds from the events earlier in the show. The fans begin viciously booing Roode’s henchmen as Taker begins to fight both men off. As soon as Taker starts successfully fighting them off, BOBBY ROODE hits the ring and makes it a 3-1 attack!
GLORIOUS DDT BY ROODE TO THE UNDERTAKER! The fans boo as The North work collectively to bring Taker to his feet again. As soon as Roode’s about to set him up for ANOTHER Glorious DDT…the LIGHTS go out.
Joe Galli begins to panic on commentary, worried that this might be another attack from Brodie Lee like we saw several months ago. However, he couldn’t be more wrong…
The lights come on and it’s KANE! KANE IS IN THE NWA! He wastes no time grabbing the throats of Alexander and Page, and chokeslamming them straight to hell! Roode escapes the ring just in the knick of time, as Kane glares at him.
“HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT!”
The fans can’t believe that KANE has made his presence felt in the NWA, to defend his brother against the odds! From the mat, Taker looks up at his brother, who extends his hand to him. Taker accepts and is back to his feet, as the crowd goes wild! Joe Galli states that the Brothers of Destruction are reunited and it feels so good, until…
WHAT THE HELL?! TOMBSTONE BY KANE ONTO THE UNDERTAKER! The cheers immediately turn to jarring boos as Kane begins to laugh maniacally in the ring. Roode looks on from ringside, and he looks scared to death, unsure of what the hell is going on. Kane screams “HE’S COMING!” As he performs his signature taunt to end this shocking edition of NWA Power.
