NWA Power #11
Live from Charleston, WV
Live from Charleston, WV
NWA Power opens up with a recap of last weeks main event between Bobby Roode and Christian Cage. The outside dive spot, blockbuster to the outside, and steel step attack are highlighted prominently followed by the impressive tilt-a-whirl Glorious DDT by Roode for the win.
“WHO is my opponent? Who is the man that I’ll be facing - and defeating - to earn a shot at the Worlds Championship?!”

The NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, The Undertaker, appears on the screen to begin our episode of Power. He gives an eery warning to the winner of Roode versus Naito tonight. He reminds viewers that he’s done it all in his multi-decade career, everything from dealing with rich guys who throw their money around to international sensations…but the outcome never changes. Taker affirms that the NWA ring is “his yard” and he has no plans of conveying ownership.
Tag Team Match
Non-Title
The North v. The Dudleys
In a fun tag team match, both teams brought their best. The Dudleys knew that this was their chance to impress NWA management against the tag champs, but the champs are no slouches and operate like a well-oiled machine! Lots of back and forth action in this one, with The North implementing old school heel tactics to maintain the upper hand, until a slight bit of miscommunication created an opening for The Dudleys…
3D ON PAGE! 1….2….3! WHAT AN UPSET!!
Winners: The Dudleys at 9:15
The Dudleys celebrate in the ring, while Page and Alexander regroup on the outside of the ring, pissed off and embarrassed…and knowing that they may have another date with the Dudleys down the line.
The former National Champion Apollo Crews is standing backstage. He talks a bit about reworking his strategy in hopes that he’ll get another shot at the National Championship sooner than later. He acknowledges that he’s arguably the best pure athlete in the NWA and that he’s confident, through hard work, he’ll get another chance someday.
NWA newcomer Cedric Alexander steps into the scene and interrupts Crews by saying “you WERE the best pure athlete in the NWA…and then I signed a contract.” Cedric smirks at Crews and walks off, as Crews nods and the scene fades to black.
Singles Match
John Morrison v. Brian Myers
Myers and Morrison locked up in the early going and spent several seconds jockeying for position, until Myers stomped on the toes of Morrison in old school fashion. Myers continued to target the leg of Morrison hoping to neutralize Morrison’s high octane offense before it got started. However, Myers’ plan didn’t work too well as Morrison mounted a quick comeback…
Starship Pain! 1….2….3! Morrison wins his debut match in the NWA!
Winner: John Morrison at 5:09
After the match, Morrison is celebrating when…
JAX DANE APPEARS OUT OF NOWHERE AND HITS THE HUGE 300 SPEAR! He nearly cut Morrison in half with it! Why is Dane going after Morrison?!
We see Matt Riddle backstage being interviewed. He admits that his NWA career hasn’t really gotten off the ground like he had hoped by now. He says that he has an ace up his sleeve…
As Pete Dunne appears in the scene, looking rather unenthused! Riddle looks ecstatic and says that the Broserweights are back together again and will team up for the first time ever in the NWA…next week…brooooo!
Mike Adamle appears on the stage to a mixed pop from the crowd. Adamle states that things are certainly starting to heat up here in the NWA, which leads to his big announcement tonight. In just three weeks, the NWA will hold its next pay-per-view “Into The Fire” and that is where we’ll see The Undertaker defend the Worlds Heavyweight Championship against either Bobby Roode or Tetsuya Naito! Adamle also confirmed that Eli Drake will finally get his chance at the National Title against Samoa Joe.
This leads us into Samoa Joe backstage. He says that Eli Drake finally has a date with the devil at Into The Fire. Joe says he can’t wait to spoil Drake at the pay-per-view and lavish him with pain and anguish. Joe notes that, when the dust settles, the only man that will be left standing is him.
Singles Match
Thunder Rosa v. Taya Valkyrie
At the start of the bell, Taya tried using her power to her advantage connecting with moves such as a suplex and power slam. Ultimately, Taya’s mistake was attempting to go high risk against the more agile Thunder Rosa and Taya crashed and burned with a top rope splash. Rosa was able to mount a comeback, and eventually clenched Taya in the Snake Sleeper! Taya passed out, and Rosa was declared the winner!
Winner: Thunder Rosa at 8:39
After the match, Rosa grabbed a microphone. She addressed Asuka’s actions from last week, using the green mist and Mr. Fuji’s interference, and said that Asuka cheated to win. Rosa said that if Asuka has the guts, she’ll give her a rematch AND put the NWA Women’s Championship on the line! Rosa ended the promo by saying she hopes to hear from Asuka soon, before dropping the mic and celebrating her win in the ring.
Jax Dane is backstage. He smirks and says what John Morrison experienced tonight was just a taste of what’s to come. Dane says Morrison is the epitome of what he stands against - a pretty boy coming from up north who adds no value to the National Wrestling Alliance. Dane says things might be changing in the NWA, but that won’t stop him from fighting back. He says Morrison is now his primary target, and he can’t wait to get his hands on him one on one next week!
Bobby Roode is backstage just moments before his Number One Contender opportunity. He makes it clear that he’s not pleased with having to face Naito tonight, and questions just how good Naito is if he has to take cheap shots. Roode says he was the clear winner in his match against Christian last week, and that history will repeat itself tonight once he gets his hands on Naito.
Main Event
#1 Contendership for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship
Bobby Roode v. Tetsuya Naito
The atmosphere was electric for this HUGE main event! The action did not disappoint as Roode and Naito pushed each other to the limit. We saw incredible offense from Naito including a swanton bomb, a skull-cracking enziguri, and springboard dropkick. Roode was no slouch as he was able to regain control over the match no matter what Naito tried throwing at him.
As Naito was seemingly closing in on Roode, PAGE and ALEXANDER made their presence known by distracting Naito at ringside! Despite the referee’s pleas for The North to leave ringside immediately, Roode saw an opportunity to nail Naito with a LOW BLOW…
And follow up with the Glorious DDT! The fans were outraged as Roode crawled over the lifeless body of Naito for the 1….2….3!
Winner and NEW number one contender: Bobby Roode at 18:54
